it's me!

:3c

so you want to know a little bit more about me? what a curious soul! but i love yapping, and thus i shall oblige, of course >:3c

i am a gemini born on the cusp of the new millenium, ready to take on the world but easily distracted by all the shiny things that this world has to offer. i have both autism and adhd, so there are shinies aplenty for me. in university, i study both comparative literature with a focus on international feminist literature (book recs will follow, i promise!) and sinology. i may start keeping a study diary for chinese and post my essays and yaps as well, so keep your eyes peeled. i can't promise anything though, because it is my greatest horror to be perceived (and possibly even judged!). i am pretty risk averse, but i am still trying my best to challenge myself into finding new things i like, making websites and actually have people possibly perceive me (and my thoughts??) being one of them. up until now, it's been way fun!

hobbies and interests

like many people, i do, in fact, have hobbies. i am a big fan of reading, which may be hinted at by my choice of majors. if i take the time to maintain this internet diary, my plan is to make little updates on current reads as well as ratings of books i really liked (or disliked, looking at you "ariadne" by jennifer saint, you know what you did!). i also like listening to music. i am not picky about the genre, i can vibe to almost everything. i currently like poppy, kikuo, ashnikko, ikkimel and bibiza. i'll link some stuff on youtube for everyone to listen to once i figure out how to do that in a aesthetically pleasing way!

hobbies. what other hobbies do i have? well, i like dressing up and doing my makeup. i like dressing to the vibe that i feel. it makes me feel more complete, whichever way it may go. i also dabble in quite a few fiber related crafts, like sewing and crochet.

in general, the arts have always been a part of my life. i am chronically never really good at them, but i don't care. i find joy in them. i really like sketching (with pencil, i just can't figure out drawing tablets oops). i also play the occasional video game. i am currently working on my perfection file in stardew valley (marrying emily this time around) and am failing horribly at silksong (i have played hollow knight, but it has been years!).

i also work on wikipedia articles whenever i find the time, which isn't often. i tend to stick to minor edits and looking for extra sources over anything else because i find the layout of wikipedia quite intimidating. i also like preserving websites on the wayback machine.

work and studies

i work at the largest media company in my home country answering customer emails and working a bit of their social media. it's not much, but it's honest work.

when i am not work, i am probably at uni. i study comparative literature, zeroing in on feminist literature around the world, a task which was most enjoyable but also horrifying at the same time. i will make a page with my most important feminist reads, of course. don't you worry about that. i also study sinology, but those studies are coming along with much more struggle. turns out when i am not naturally gifted at something i really suck at studying. but i will persevere and i will learn. i love both my studies and hope to do a phd one day, possibly about international feminisms. i'd very much like that. if i don't get to do that, i might just switch into journalism. but i don't quite want to settle on a path just yet. i am only 25, after all. politics

i believe that everyone deserves a roof over their head, clothes on their back and food on their table. i also believe that that should not be as hot of a political take as it currently is. i think everyone deserves a decent base quality of life because nowadays the world is set up in a way that would make it possible for everyone to live a fulfilled life if billionaires were not hoarding money the way they are and governments were doing more about it. i am not yet well-read enough to fully decide if i am a socialist or a communist, but all things considered i lean communist, but i also believe that it is a utopia that will take several more generations to achieve. i'll help tho!

if you believe that immigrants are lazy and/or take our jobs, if you believe that women "are already getting preferential treatment" or if you believe that dei is to prefer less qualified minorities over a more qualified hegemony, then gtfo, i don't want to talk to you. i have my uncle and my cousin for these kinds of conversations, and i don't talk to them either.
