welcome to my diary!
here i will bless u with all the (more or less) interesting stuff going on in my life. don't expect too much, i am pretty bad at even just keeping my physical journey, but i'll try and update occasionally. thanks for checking in!
february 6, 2026
currently, coding is going really slow, mostly owing to the fact that despite the main rush of tests and stress being over, i still have one more subject to conquer. i also got sick immediately after finishing the semester, so i have spent the last week coughing my lungs out and spiking a random fever a few days ago. while that didn't last, i still decided to take the rest of the week in sick leave, mostly because i do not want to inflict my illness onto my colleagues, but also so i can actually rest and recover.
life is going fine as is. i have now decided to go more analog over the course of 2026 and i have specific plans that are already lined up for me:
get the mive style folder 2, it runs android 14 and is modern enough for me to be able to run the apps i really need, mostly communication apps.
get some kind of mp3-player - for now i have my eyes on the ipod mini, because my boyfriend still has an original one and it is easy to mod for more storage and battery life. if i cannot get that one, i may just get the snowsky echo mini. it looks like a tiny cassette player, and while i am the kinda person to often prefer function over form, this time around i said i want stuff to look cool - thus the mive style folder and the ipod mini.
after getting the ipod/mp3-player, i will finally unsub from spotify. i've been looking for alternatives for a while now, but stayed away mostly due to steep price points. now that i have a phone that's gonna be cheap and an ipod i can fairly cheaply mod myself, that bar is cleared. even better - i got a nice little raise this month, so saving up looks more cushy :3
finally, i will invest the money i spent on spotify in cd's. i coincidentally already have a cd-ripper at home (thanks to my bf) and i know how to rip cds, because i used to do that in my childhood. if i cannot get physical copies, i will go on bandcamp and get them there. i am so excited, because i still have my old cds from when i was 16, a whole collection of the big nu metal bands back then - slipknot, korn, system of a down; but because i am an indecisive queen, i also have artists like queens of the stone age, nine inch nails, and nirvana. i will absolutely add a more diverse range of music nowadays, back then i exclusively listened to metal and other "heavy genres", limiting myself quite severely. but nowadays, i enjoy a wide range of music - i will probably make a page introducin my fave artists and sorts!
my goal is to "leave social media at home", meaning i will allow myself access to - as i like to call them - inflammatory social media (instagram, tiktok, reddit,...) only at home, by using a phone during the day that doesn't have those installed. ideally, this will be enough of a barrier to finally slash my daily 12-hour-screentime average :/
i am also making an effort to journal more! i already got an "infinite" (read: refillable) journal last year, and it is almost full. i sectioned mine into three parts: the first is my journal for hopes, dreams, doodles and doodats. the second is my class word - this one usually fills up fastest. and the last one is my glossary for books i am reading. currently, that is "on women" by susan sontag, "das kapital" by marx and the "hunger games" trilogy by suzanne collins.
i will also unsub from amazon prime. instead, i may just use aliexpress? i like their stationery anyway, and i also have yet to encounter a "fake" listing, because it turns out, if you use common sense, aliexpress is very usable. i like waiting for my packages and getting excited, and maybe not having immediate access to everything in the palm of my hand will lead to me finally shopping less (overconsumption? on this earth? oh hell nah, this girl here loves crafts and upcycling!)
if anyone needs it, i will also compile a nice little youtube-playlist with the people who helped me go analog - discovering neocities is part of that project for me :3 i wanna get away from social media, an endeavor i hope will go better once my mive actually arrives. i will order it probably around march or may, i dont think i can afford it sooner than that with uni fees coming up soon again. if i can, i may order it this month and push the fees back to next, because i spend an ungodly amount of time on there despite the fact that i hate every single minute. i will try and get more news through more reliable sources for my own home country, because thankfully, we have those here. for the rest, i will rely more on sites like bluesky instead of instagram.
wow - what a mouthful, especiall without me knowing how to make formatting pretty yet. thanks for reading, i hope i can provide some ideas for other folks wanting to go analog! see you in the next entry!
